Physical tension that builds up in the body is caused by stress. Stress comes in three forms; mental, emotional, or physical and it is normally a mixture of all three that effects your overall wellbeing.

The stress people feel is generally connected to their work and workplace environment, sports and activities, relationships, life changes and their general psychology.

The symptoms of stress include; anxiety, depression, panic attacks, tension, anger, insomnia, fatigue, headaches, impatience, frustration, disorders… and prolonged stress has been known to result in some form of (dis)ease.

Deep Tissue Massage is very good natural therapy for releasing the physical tension caused by stress and gives people relief by reducing the effects of that stress. This aids people in stress management and helps them to cope in traumatic and stressful times.

Through experience I’ve found that Reiki is extremely good at treating the more emotional and mental stresses that people face. It seems to “balance” my clients and often helps them to take a new perspective on a problem, which in turn reduces the stress they are feeling.

However, physical injuries are more likely to occur through over work or from taking part in sports like football, rugby, skiing, running etc...

Common injuries like: muscle, tendon and ligament sprains and strains, RSI (repetitive strain injury), ACL and knee injuries, back, neck and shoulder pain, joint and bone damage and many others can be treated by and rehabilitated Deep Tissue Massage and Reiki.

Usually I use Massage in treating soft tissue injuries, whereas Reiki I’ve found is better suited for joint, bone damage. Both treatments aid the person to recovery quicker if not immediately from their injury.

I have treated ACL, knee and ankle injuries (ligament and tendon strains) with Reiki while I was working in a ski resort and the results astounded both myself and my clients. After a one hour Reiki treatment, most clients (who were hobbling around on crutches when I met them) were back skiing the next day.
